Lafayette Booking and Arrest Records
Booking records in Lafayette are public information. When someone is arrested, the jail creates a record with their name, charges, bond amount, and arrest details. This data goes into the 365Labs system and the LA VINE roster.
Under the Louisiana Public Records Act (La. R.S. 44:1), you have the right to access these records. The jail roster, arrest records, charges, and mugshots are all public. But not all information is available. Louisiana Revised Statute 15:574.12 protects medical records, juvenile records, and certain internal documents. Social security numbers are never released. If you need a formal copy of a booking record, contact the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office or the Lafayette Police Department depending on which agency made the arrest.
State Inmate Search for Lafayette
